Zelensky responded to Trump's statement about exchanging rare earth metals for aid to Ukraine.

Зеленский прокомментировал слова Трампа о редкоземельных металлах в контексте помощи Украине.

On February 3, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he wants to exchange rare earth metals from Ukraine for American aid.

Zelensky reminded that U.S. investments in Ukraine's minerals are a distinct part of the victory plan.

"Russia has occupied our lands since 2014. There were indeed significant volumes of our minerals there. And we are open to the fact that all of this can be developed with our partners, who help us defend our land and push the enemy back—with their weapons, their presence, and sanction packages. And this is absolutely fair," the president noted.

Zelensky added that he discussed this issue last September during a meeting with Trump in New York.

"I told him that we would only be open to American companies’ investments. Because if everything is under the control of the [aggressor] country, Russia, then other countries and companies will come in, and I am sure that both Iran and North Korea will be among them," emphasized the Ukrainian president.

According to Zelensky, Trump is very interested in "coming into Ukraine."
