A Sevastopol resident was fined for sharing childfree memes.

В Севастополе женщину наказали штрафом за публикацию мемов о чайлдфри.

According to the protocol, police found "misanthropic posts" on the page of a 29-year-old city resident, including support for opting out of having children in favor of a "carefree lifestyle." The young woman did not delete these posts after a provision regarding the promotion of child-free living was introduced in Russian legislation.

The fine amounted to 50,000 rubles. This is the first known penalty for "promoting child-free lifestyles," notes "Kosa."

  • Starting December 2024, the dissemination of information about the benefits of a child-free life will be prohibited in Russia. Fines of up to 400,000 rubles for individuals and up to five million rubles for organizations will be imposed for violations.
