Bloomberg reports that sanctioned tankers are once again transporting oil from Russia.

Bloomberg: танкеры, находящиеся под санкциями, снова осуществляют перевозку нефти из России.

The first restrictions against vessels and the companies operating them for transporting Russian oil above the price cap were imposed by the United States in October 2023, with the EU and the UK joining the sanctions in 2024.

According to agency reports, the sanctioned vessels remained idle until April 2024. From April to June, journalists recorded only one trip per month. However, after the initial shipments were successfully delivered, the use of sanctioned tankers surged dramatically — in July, two shipments were transported, six in August and September, and seven in just ten days of October.

In total, sanctioned tankers have transported 24 shipments. It is claimed that nearly two-thirds of all shipments were carried out by vessels subject to London’s sanctions.
