WHO Director-General Tedros Ghebreyesus was at Sana'a airport during the bombing.

Гендиректор ВОЗ Гебрейесус оказался в аэропорту Саны во время бомбардировки.

"We were about to begin boarding for a flight from Sana when the airport was subjected to airstrikes," wrote the WHO Director-General on platform X. "One of the crew members on our plane was injured. Reports indicate that two people have died at the airport. The control tower, the departure lounge—just a few meters away from us—and the runway have all been damaged." This was reported by BBC.

The Houthi channel stated that three people were killed. Israel claimed that strikes were carried out on the airport in Sana, two power stations, and three ports—all referred to as "military infrastructure" in a statement from the Israeli command, notes the BBC.

According to his statement, Ghebreyesus was not harmed; he and his colleagues from WHO and the UN are safe, but they will not be able to leave Yemen until the damage at the airport is repaired.

Earlier, Israel had warned that it was preparing to strike the Houthi-controlled part of Yemen in response to recent shelling of Israeli cities by Houthis.

"[Israeli] fighter jets struck military targets belonging to the Houthi terrorist regime on the western coast and deep inside Yemen," said a statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned reporters that the campaign against the Houthis in Yemen "is just beginning."
